Rebecca Schiff is Dean of the Faculty of Human and Health Sciences at the University of Northern British Columbia. She is a transdisciplinary scholar with grounding in sustainability studies, health sciences and public health, social work, community development, environment and geography, and justice studies. Much of her research and advocacy work focuses on community health and social issues for marginalized communities across diverse urban, rural, and remote geographies. Her research focuses on determinants of community wellbeing, social service systems, and social aspects of sustainability, with an emphasis on community – engaged methodologies, community co – generation of knowledge, and integrated knowledge translation. For over a decade, Rebecca has been an active researcher and advocate, across the country, on housing and homelessness issues. This includes work with the Calgary Homeless Foundation, the Regina Housing and Homelessness Committee, the Happy Valley – Goose Bay Housing and Homelessness Coalition, Thunder Bay Housing and Homelessness Coalition, among others.
