K’asho Got’ine Housing Society is a non-profit incorporated in 2016 to address Fort Good Hope’s housing challenges. Currently the Society is focused on developing and implementing two shelter projects. Over the coming years we hope to support Fort Good Hope residents in home ownership and home repair. To better understand the on-going issue of homelessness and inadequate housing in Fort Good Hope, in December 2017 we held a three-day forum to develop a plan and vision for how to address these issues. This led to the purchase of a mobile sawmill for the community, through the support of the Yamoga Land Corporation. The sawmill has been used to produce local lumber to help reduce inflated housing costs that stem from the shipping costs of materials. We continue to work diligently to improve housing conditions in our community.
