Pamela Orr started her career as a general practitioner with the J. A. Hildes Northern Medical Unit, working in northern Manitoba and the Arctic. She is currently a Professor of Internal Medicine (Infectious Diseases), Medical Microbiology and Community Health at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg. She is engaged in research partnerships with First Nations and Inuit communities to support health and wellness. Dr. Orr is Vice-President of the Circumpolar Health Research Network, Associate Editor of the International Journal of Circumpolar Health, and a Board member of the International Union Against TB and Lung Disease. She is past President of the Canadian Society for Circumpolar Health and the International Union for Circumpolar Health.
