Nain, Nunatsiavut

We will be developing an inventory of northern community-led housing approaches and housing governance models, policies, funding and financing models across the territorial and provincial Norths. We will develop a contextually and culturally adaptable model for assessing community housing needs and demands and will complete a social network analysis of housing governance models. We will produce case studies of partnerships and alliances that have successfully mobilized knowledge for policy change and develop supportive housing strategies. Finally, we will create visual representations of how home is conceptualized within communities, how northern housing is governed at the local, regional and national scales, and how the multi-dimensional nature of housing is represented economically.
