Ella is an MA student in Geography at McGill University under the supervision of Prof. Mylène Riva. She completed her BA Honours in Ecological Determinants of Health at McGill’s School of Environment in 2019. Her research interests center on the health and social impacts of resource extraction projects, particularly on marginalized populations. For her master’s thesis, she is examining how Indigenous Peoples’ health and well-being is represented and addressed in regulatory and permitting processes for new mining projects. She is excited to be working as part of the At Home in the North team as the graduate research assistant for the Health Synthesis Stream, co-led by Mylène Riva and Michele Wood.
